South Conference Swim & Dive Champs 2021



Tristan Malone, MHS Senior and Teacher Cadet, spent the day Thursday shadowing Mrs. Jarvis and enjoying time with her 1st grade class at Eastside Elementary.
The Teacher Cadet Program allows time for cadets to spend an entire day with their field experience class. Tristan was fortunate enough to get to participate in the Valentine’s Day Party as well as all other parts of the day. .


MHS Swim and Dive will defend their conference title today in Texarkana. Meet starts at 4:00 with diving. Good Luck to all swimmers and divers, leave it all in the water!!!!


Imanol Guzman, MHS Senior and Teacher Cadet, taught a lesson about Jackie Robinson to Mrs. Haile’s 3rd grade class at Central Elementary.





Our principals are working hard to become certified Science of Reading assessors!

MIKE JONES RECEIVES SAU FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP
Magnolia High School senior, Mike Jones, recently signed a letter-of-intent to play football for Southern Arkansas University. The future Mulerider was a standout lineman for the MHS Panther football team during 2020 season. Mike was named to the 5A South All-Conference team and was selected as the 5A South Lineman of the Year.

National School Counselor Week in Arkansas
Governor Asa Hutchinson has proclaimed the week of February 1-5, 2021 as National School Counselor Week in Arkansas to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within the U.S. school system and how students are different because of what they do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students meet their college and career aspirations.
The Magnolia School District recognizes the contributions of nine school counselors employed by the District. Each day these counselors make significant contributions to lives of our children. The District greatly appreciates the remarkable work these counselors do to provide a positive influence on the future of all students. The Magnolia School District counselors include:

Varsity Basketball Update:
Boys and girls varsity Panther basketball games tomorrow night (vs Warren), Friday (vs Watson Chapel), and next Tuesday (vs Crossett) have been cancelled due to COVID.


Our school teachers and staff are continuously working on opportunities to improve their skills in education. Marissa Aranda Youngblood and Norma Aranda Smith were accepted as participants in the ABICE Training Course.
ABICE – Arkansas Bilingual Interpreter Credential in Education is a credential for bilingual professionals who provide interpretation services in educational settings that serve children from birth through 12th grade. It is recognized as a professional credential by both the Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.
ABICE is administered by Partners for Inclusive Communities – University of Arkansas Fayetteville.
