Teacher Spotlight:
This week we are featuring our History Dept. Chair, Mr. Hunter Fowler, who is beginning his 5th year at MHS. He teaches US History, Psychology/Sociology, and AP US History; he also sponsors the MHS Competitive Gaming Team. Born in San Diego, and raised in Texarkana, Mr. Fowler describes himself as a “nerd who loves fantasy literature and games”. He is a father to Randi, 9, and Peter, 5. In his free time he likes to read, fish, golf, and hang out with his family. He is also a huge Arkansas Razorback and Clemson Tiger fan. Thanks for all you do; we appreciate you, Mr. Fowler!

JOHN WARD SELECTED ARKANSAS SUPERINTENDENT OF THE YEAR
During the regularly scheduled Magnolia School Board meeting on Monday, September 13, 2021, Superintendent John Ward was surprised with an official visit from members of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators. AAEA Executive Director, Mike Hernandez presented Mr. Ward with the 2021-2022 Arkansas Superintendent of the Year award. Ward starts this fall in his eighth year as superintendent of the Magnolia School District.

MHS Teacher Spotlight:
Keri Hamilton has been teaching English at MHS for 16 years and currently serves as the dept. chair. We are proud of Mrs. Hamilton’s accomplishments as a National Board Certified Teacher, and we are excited about the new courses she has added this year: Comparative Literature and Film as Literature. She is also a Boundless Learning model teacher who excels at “meeting students where they are”.
In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Panthers, especially her son, Connor, who is an 11th grade football player, and her daughter, Jaci, who is an 8th grade volleyball player. She also enjoys camping and spending time on the lake with her family.

MHS Teacher Cadets were able to read their "Back to School" books at the Magnolia Kindergarten Center this morning. We aren't sure who enjoyed it more, the Seniors or the Kindergarteners!

Panther Plaza is a working lab run by students in Mrs. Love’s Marketing and Small Business Operations classes. Everything you see in Panther Plaza is selected by the students! All proceeds from Panther Plaza stay in their account to buy more merchandise and supplies. Students are responsible for customer service and sales, inventory, ordering, social media marketing, financial reports, maintenance and cleaning the store. Students are able to gain job experience and business knowledge while in high school. When you support Panther Plaza you are supporting students. Swing by today from 8-3!

Magnolia School District Hosts Formal Unveiling of Magnolia Performing Arts Center
The Magnolia School District invites the press and public to attend the formal unveiling of the Magnolia Performing Arts Center on August 29, 2021.
The event will begin with MSD board members and school officials taking part in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2:00 PM.
Magnolia Performing Arts Center viewing is open to the public from 2:15-4:00 PM.
