White out is happening tomorrow, October 14th!

This Saturday, October 15th, you have a chance to support our MHS fishing team. Please stop by to get your car washed and make a donation to this hard-working team.

*Teacher Spotlight*
Susan Massey is beginning her 1st year here at MHS in the math department. Mrs. Massey says, "I chose to be an educator because I love helping students accomplish their goals. I received so much support from my teachers and I want to be that for my students as well. I am an MHS alum and I am glad to be back in Magnolia!"
Thank you for all you do for our students at MHS!

This week at MHS we are collecting food for the Magnolia Public Schools Food Pantries and Backpack Program. So make sure you pick up an extra package of crackers or pasta this week to donate. Thank you!

Mr. Mancil’s 10th grade English classes had a “spooktacular” genre book tasting today in the media center. Students got to sample books from five different genres, before selecting one for their independent reading.

Reminder: There is no school on Monday, Oct. 10th. Teachers will be participating in professional development.

Mrs. Cornett and Ms. Vann see over the WOLF Program at the High School. This is a work-based program that meets all students needs while learning job skills that will help after High School. We have started a coffee business for the campus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The Special Cup is our name, and these students are working hard at preparing, delivering, and maintaining the money.

*Counselor Spotlight*
Mary Heinze is in her 3rd year here at MHS as a school counselor. Mrs. Heinze believes that "Students deserve to have adults that believe in them, they need a support system that is vast and diverse. If I can be part of that positive in their lives then I have fulfilled my calling. I am MHS Panther Alum! I believe in our district and I believe in our students. Once a Panther, Always a Panther!"
Thank you for all you do for our students at MHS!

PIE(Partners In Education) is sponsoring a food drive next week. All proceeds from the drive with go toward the MPS food pantries and backpack program. For 9th-grade students, we ask that they bring any type of crackers, while we are encouraging 10-12 students to bring pasta or pasta sauce.

Our amazing MHS teachers got a sweet treat this Friday!

Congratulations to Jared Mancil, our September 2022 Teacher of the Month at Magnolia High School. He is a recipient of this award based on his ability to maintain a high level of learning for all students while juggling many activities. He is a sponsor of Student Council and had a busy month leading activities during homecoming week, such as, the fair parade, cutting of the cake, bonfire, and senior burn sign. While exceeding our expectations of a successful homecoming week, Jared received 3 administrative walk-through observations during the month and performed exceptionally well in all of them. His instructional strategies of high-level questioning and student engagement were spot on! We want to congratulate Jared and thank him for his contribution to excellence at Magnolia High School. #Win4Kids
Thank you to HealthQuest Therapy for providing a gift card for our teacher of the month.
