Magnolia Panthers Capture Back-to-Back Simmons Bank Invitational Championships
Magnolia, Arkansas — The Magnolia Panther Golf Team opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion, claiming its second consecutive Simmons Bank Invitational Championship by winning the 31st Simmons Bank Invitational with an impressive team score of 300 (+12). The Panthers outpaced the competition by 27 strokes, showcasing the depth and talent of this year's squad.
Leading the way was defending individual champion Knox Stephens, who fired an outstanding 5-under-par 67 to successfully defend his title. Stephens claimed medalist honors for the second straight year, winning the individual championship by five strokes.
Senior Titus Nelson delivered one of the best performances of his high school career, carding a 77 (+5) to earn his first Top 5 finish of the season.
Jackson Teutsch and Lincoln Nelson rounded out Magnolia's scoring with matching rounds of 78 (+6). Both golfers finished tied for 6th place individually, helping secure the Panthers' commanding team victory.
Senior Gage Klober also opened his final season on a strong note, shooting an 83 (+11) to finish 15th overall, while Turner Alston competed as an individual and placed 40th.
The Magnolia Lady Panthers also began their season at the Simmons Bank Invitational. Senior Adelynn Bonds led the Lady Panthers with a 19th-place finish in her final season, while Tinley Cole made an impressive debut for Magnolia, placing 22nd in her first varsity competition.
"We're proud of the way both teams competed to open the season," said Head Coach Connor Harrington. "The boys played with confidence and consistency, and it was exciting to see Knox defend his title. We also had several players step up with strong performances, and our girls showed great promise to begin the year. We're looking forward to building on this momentum throughout the season."
