Magnolia Panther Anglers Earn “Team of the Year” Honors; Qualify for National Competition
Magnolia, Arkansas — Magnolia Panther senior Lucas Cheatham and incoming freshman Wyatt Boswell have been named “Team of the Year/Angler of the Year” on the Trader Bill’s High School Fishing Team Trail after accumulating the highest point total over a four-tournament series during the 2025–2026 school year.
This marks the second Team of the Year honor for Lucas Cheatham, who previously earned the title in 2024 alongside former partner Collin Hampton, a 2025 Magnolia graduate.
The Trader Bill’s trail is sanctioned through the Student Angler Federation (SAF) and Major League Fishing (MLF) organizations, making it one of the premier competitive high school fishing circuits in the region.
As a result of their outstanding season, Lucas and Wyatt have earned a berth to compete in the High School Fishing National Championship this summer at Lake Cumberland in Russell Springs, Kentucky.
In addition, the duo will compete in the Arkansas TBF/MLF State Tournament on May 29–30 in Hot Springs, where they will officially receive their Team of the Year trophies, along with scholarships and additional prizes.
Lucas Cheatham has also earned a fishing scholarship to Southern Arkansas University, where he plans to continue his competitive fishing career at the collegiate level.
Wyatt Boswell will continue representing the Magnolia Panthers Fishing Team during the upcoming school year.
