Tyler Dennis

Magnolia School District is proud to announce Mr. Tyler Dennis as the new Magnolia School District Director of Bands.

Mr. Dennis has served the district for the past three years as Assistant Band Director and Magnolia Middle School Band Director. A graduate of Southern Arkansas University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Education, he brings experience directing a wide range of ensembles, including the Magnolia Middle School Band, Magnolia High School Marching Band, Magnolia High School Jazz Band, Magnolia Middle School Jazz Band, and Beginning Band.

During his time in Magnolia, Mr. Dennis has already made a significant impact on the program. Under his leadership, the middle school band recently earned a Sweepstakes Award, receiving first division ratings in both concert performance and sight-reading at regional assessment. He has also been selected to conduct the Region 3 2nd Junior High Jazz Band. His professional involvement includes serving as a former President of Kappa Kappa Psi, and he is an alumnus of the 2021 Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps.

A Magnolia native, Mr. Dennis is deeply connected to the community and inspired by the band directors who mentored him as a student. He plays both French horn and trumpet and is passionate about continuing the strong tradition of excellence in Magnolia’s band program.

Mr. Dennis is committed to helping students grow not only as musicians but as individuals. He believes the band program should prepare students for lifelong success by building discipline, responsibility, and confidence. He is excited to continue developing the program’s legacy while investing in students who are “bright, driven, and deeply committed to what they care about.”

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Dennis enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Tyler Dennis as he steps into his new role as Director of Bands. We look forward to the continued success and growth of Magnolia’s band program under his leadership.
