EES Student was selected as one of twelve winners of Economics Arkansas’ 2025 Picturing Economics Art Competition.

Abbigail Mixon (1st grade) was selected as one of twelve winners of Economics Arkansas’ 2025 Picturing Economics Art Competition. Students across the state in grades K-8 were tasked with illustrating economic concepts. Abbigail’s drawing illustrating “services” as well as the other winning art is live on EA’s website — https://www.economicsarkansas.org/for_teachers/picturing-econ.html. Technology lab teacher, Jessica Talley, submitted her artwork after an economics collaborative unit with art teacher, Ms. Waller, centered around apples. Abbigail and her teachers both received $50 each for her entry. Abbigail’s framed piece will be on display in the superintendent’s office.

Five East Side students have been winners in this competition since 2022.
